We the People Sample Essay - Were You Right to Vote For Trump?
We the People Sample Essay - Were You Right to Vote For Trump?Recently, a student was assigned to write a portion of a 'We the People' sample essay. He was assigned to write about whether or not he believed the United States was justified in going to war with Mexico. I believe that all of us should question the US government's reasons for waging war with Mexico because it was never the Mexicans' fault and we are the aggressors. Please consider this in 2020.Here is the statement that he wrote:'Mexican people are very rich. The Mexicans use the oil money to build luxurious palaces, resorts, and schools.'This is what the US government has been telling the American people, and many Americans are buying it. The US government knows that these people can be used against us and have used them before, as they did in Nicaragua and Grenada. The reason that the US was able to win its first Gulf War because of the propaganda they planted into the minds of the Iraqi people, is because they had tool s such as infomercials and personal development seminars to exploit this particular group of people. It did not take long for the United States to earn their trust and then wins the war.All I am saying is that if you ask me, are we justified in going to war with Mexico, I do not believe that the Mexican people deserve to have a country called Mexico. What I am saying is that the United States was wrong in attacking Mexico. I am asking those that did this to please take a good look in the mirror.Additionally, what the United States is not telling you, is that before there was NAFTA, Mexico was already an independent nation. Mexico was not that far behind on producing oil when the United States attacked Iraq, and the Mexican people are not rich because of that either. Therefore, the United States would have never been able to overthrow their democratically elected government and put in a dictatorship. There is a much better way to go about the business of international relations, which is to reach out to other nations, and make them friends.
